Welcome to Croatia!
Introducing: The Lupus Mar
Sail 1, Sept 28 - Oct 1
Departure targeted at 4pm on September 28 from the Port of Split
Sept 26:
Many of us are arriving on September 26th. Food is on your own that day.
Sept 27th:
We have arranged a group tour around Split on the 27th in the afternoon which was included in your cruise fee. This tour will take place in downtown Split at 3-4:30pm.
(Feel free to tip the tour guide if you want but not required).
We should be done with the tour around 4:30 pm and you can go relax at your hotel or our AirBnb. Those of you staying at a hotel are more than welcome anytime at the AirBnb which we're considering the hospitality house.
Those of us in the AirBNB will be staying here.
That is the location of our Bon Voyage dinner on Sept 27th at 6pm. (Thank you Tourism New Zealand!)
*You can arrive anytime before 6pm to hang out at the pool or chill in the house! We also have the house all day on the 28th if you need to check out of your hotel- you can go around Split on your own or hang out at the house until the yacht is ready for us!
The address is:
Marina 38, Žrnovnica, Splitsko-dalmatinska županija 21251, Croatia
Sept 28:
Additional information on the exact embarkation point for the yacht on Sept 28th will be provided closer to sail date when confirmed.
Food is on your own this day before we board- once you're on the boat, everything is covered from your reg fee!
Note: We are at the whim of the sea and the weather, and plans may need to change accordingly.
Sail 2, Oct 1 - Oct 5
Departure targeted at 3pm on October 1 from the Port of Split
If you are arriving early and want to schedule tours or excursions before getting on the yacht, we recommend Magdalena Buterin (Magy). She's available via WhatsApp at +385 91 579 0419 and can do wine, olive oil, old town, or other tours for €100/pp.
Additional information on the exact embarkation point for the yacht on Oct 1st will be provided closer to sail date when confirmed.
We will be having a lunch together in the town for the people of Sail 2 to meet those staying in town from Sail 1. The lunch will be at 1pm and isn't included in the trip amount so you can Venmo us once we figure out the exact price for this per person. You do not have to attend this lunch but there's some people who would love to meet you before we leave to sail into the sunset at 3pm!
Note: We are at the whim of the sea and the weather, and plans may need to change accordingly.

-
Bathing suits and cover ups
-
Shorts
-

-
When we go into town, it is very picturesque! If you're looking for those Mama Mia Instagram shots, then bright colors and whites are a good call.
-
Comfy shoes for walking in town (ladies be careful of your platform shoes if you're into that, streets and stairs are cobblestone in some areas)
-
Water shoes if you have them and want to swim to the beaches, they're rocky.
-
They have snorkels, but they don't fit your face perfectly - so if you own a mask and snorkel and want to bring it, awesome!

Yacht Things
-
Yacht crew tips are included in our charter price, but if someone goes above and beyond and you'd like to tip, you can do so.
-
The yacht provides basic toiletries and hair dryers.
-
Plugs are EU power (2 prong), bring an adapter.
-
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included on the yacht. If we stop at any villages and you choose to eat off-ship, that is at your own expense.
-
You are not required to participate in any activity you aren't comfortable participating in! No peer pressure to go down the inflatable slide or get in an inflatable unicorn!
-
If you over-imbibe, we will throw you overboard if you get weird or handsy. Just sayin'.
Other things to note
-
In Croatia, cash is king. Euro is the currency.
-
Restaurants in Croatia have a more laid back tipping culture, so expect to add about 10%.
-
Croatia is a relatively conservative country, do with that what you will!
-
Be tactful when talking about Croatia’s war of independence (it’s a touchy subject).
-
Tap water is safe to drink.
-
English is widely spoken in Croatia, but general words like hello (dobar dan), please (molim), and thank you (hvala) will go a long way with the locals.
-
Taxis can be costly, local bus system is efficient or Ubering.
Conference Things
The content format for our Barefoot Business Retreat is a Spontaneous Think Tank. This means at dinner on night 1 of our sail, we will crowdsource the major challenges you are trying to solve in your business (or life), and you will also share your expertise and challenges you can share insights on how to solve. This will form the basis for our conference sessions over the following days.

At least one of our think tank sessions will take place in giant inflatable unicorns on the Adriatic sea. If you are uncomfortable in any way getting into these unicorns, you do not have to participate, or we can ensure the conversation you want to be in takes place near the yacht dock so you can stay docked and still participate!

These unicorns are brought to you by Velocity XD, Storycraft Lab, Rosedale Travel, and GleanIn!

Wanna get silly for the 'gram?
Optional theme night!

You are officially invited to the Swashbuckler Soiree aboard the Lupus Mare Yacht!
Come prepared with a brief, wild tale about your pirate persona that matches your soiree wear. Whether it’s a legendary treasure hunt or a tales of the times you avoided the ocean police because you're a raging drunk pirate, share your story with fellow pirates throughout the night.
Oh...and be prepared to walk the (fashion) plank with your costume regardless of how simple or elaborate it may be!
Disclaimer: You can go as wild or simple as you'd like...just come ready with your pirate name and story for Liz and Nicole to read your blurb as you strut your peg-leg or normal-leg stuff as you walk the (fashion) plank!
